This morning, President Barack Obama tweeted the following:
@BarackObama: As the June unemployment numbers are released, it is clear we are headed in the right direction, but we are not headed there fast enough.
Thanks Mr. President. I’m increasingly frustrated with the President’s scatter brained attempt at politics. MAYBE we could get somewhere “fast enough” if he would focus on one thing… and not bounce around from idea to idea.
Dear Mr. President. The person who holds the Office of President of the United States of America used to be the most powerful person in the world! Yet you resist the power granted to you by biting off more than even you can chew. I fear if you continue down this path, you’ll end your 1 term presidency as the man who STARTED working on good things.
For the future of American children, PLEASE focus all your time and energy on the Gulf spill. Use the power of the office the American people have bestowed upon you. Ruffle some feathers. Be in everyone’s business until it’s complete. If you have to show a little “Black Man” attitude to get it done, you’re only using the ignorance of the people to prevent a natural disaster from getting worse. I excuse you. Quit being so cool… your girls will be dealing with the consequences of this BP spill for many years after your gone.

Holy shite! It just hit me. I had to talk a friend out of peeing on the Alamo this past weekend. After taking three friends to Pat O’Brien’s for their first time, we left after a few too many hurricanes, and you never have to “go” until after you leave the club. Well, Steve has to pee. Eddie convinces him it would be a great story if he peed on the Alamo. Melissa’s not really helping.
LUCKILY the designated driver (me) convinced him to wait until he got to the parking garage, and nobody got arrested. Good times!
They look death in the eye… and WIN!
Today was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in San Antonio, Tx. I’ve been working on this project for the past 3 months, and to see numerous co-workers come out to show their support for such a worthy cause. It’s inspiring, it’s sad, it’s passionate. Oceans of Pink as far as the eye can see.
“I’m Racing for Tia Ginnie”, “For my mom”, “For my sister Irene”, “For ME”. Everyone there has a story. See… 1.3 million people (not just ladies) are diagnosed each year. This race is proof that there is power in numbers! And it shows the basic human desire to help your fellow man.
To look into the eyes of a woman who has lived through hell… who has lost her hair, lost weight (not in the good way), lost her dignity with pokes, prods, and cold machines… and who has come out victorious in the end is enough to choke up even the most grown up of men. Women represent the “mother” to all of us. The arms that held us when we were scared. The hands that wiped our tears away. The voice that soothed our worries.
It’s for them: Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, friend, that I race. It’s for them: Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, friend, that I organized a company wide fundraising effort that brought in over $13,000 in donations. For the countless test tubes of DNA that yield a positive result. For the faces without names. Breast Cancer will NOT win.

AWESOME! I just saw a commercial for Star Wars in Concert during the Spurs halftime show. I will be performing in it Saturday June 5th at San Antonio’s AT&T Center!
